Melissa is a qualified Counsellor and also a Registered Mental Health Occupational Therapist. She provides individual and family counselling for men, women and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety and emotional issues due to difficult life circumstances. Melissa has an interest in working with children, adolescents and their families to help them navigate these often difficult stages of life which can cause turmoil and stress.
Melissa has a strong interest in depression and anxiety in adults and adolescents and keeps up to date with the current evidence in treatment of these mental health issues.
Providing a safe environment for her clients is important for Melissa to ensure they can explore difficult issues in their lives safely and to promote optimism and a sense of hope in the future.
Melissa uses an integrative approach to counselling, drawing on various models of therapy and believes in allowing clients to set goals in relation to their counselling and to play an active role in the process. She utilises evidenced based models of therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) , Solution Focused and Schema Therapy. When working with adolescents and children she firmly believes in utilising strength based models of therapy.
Equipping parents to develop resilience in their children is a key factor in any therapy Melissa provides to children and adolescents. She has done further training in various models of enhancing resilience and is available to provide community based education in the area.
Counselling can be provided face-to-face or via Skype for those clients who are unable to attend in person. As a recognised allied health provider of Focused Psychological Services, Melissa is able to offer Medicare rebates and/or Private Health Fund Rebates for approved clients.
Crisis counselling is generally available on short notice.
Melissa is able to appropriately integrate faith issues in counselling for Christian clients and is able to sensitively address issues for people from different faith and cultural backgrounds.

Cathy is an experienced Clinical Counsellor who offers individual Counselling for men and women who are living with depresssion, anxiety in its various forms, stress, chronic pain, grief, the challenge of change and life transitions, relationship concerns, addictions and self harm.
Cathy has a special interest in working with couples to enhance relationships, manage conflict and is a qualified facilitator in ‘prepare-enrich’ marriage preparation. Cathy can also help in navigating and mediating parenting and other non legal negotiations for separation.
Cathy is experienced in providing compassionate Grief Counselling for bereaved and dying adults as well as supporting those who have experienced past or recent trauma, domestic violence or childhood abuse.
In Individual Counselling, Cathy uses an Integrative Approach that involves assessment, identifying your unique needs and together developing goals and a plan for treatment. Because everyone is different, Cathy draws on a variety of theories and techniques depending on your needs and preferences from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and various Bereavement, Crisis and Trauma Counselling models.
In Couples Counselling, Cathy draws on techniques from Milan Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy for Couples (ACT), Gottman’s Sound Marital House Theory and Solution Focused approaches depending on the needs of the couple and the length of Counselling.
As well as face-to-face Counselling, Cathy offers Telephone or Skype Counselling to those clients who live in remote areas, have limited mobility or for regular clients as the need arises.
