Master of Counselling, BAppSc (OT) Hons, PhD (Occupation & Leisure Science), Post Grad Diploma Positive Psychology & Wellbeing.

Counselling: M.A.C.A (Level 2), CCAA (Graduate). OT/AHPRA registration.

Belinda combines occupational therapy and counselling experience to provide holistic, client centred, trauma and recovery oriented services. She works with individuals aged from 16 years and across the lifespan, and couples. Belinda offers a safe and non-judgemental space to be heard, explore and talk through whatever is interrupting living a life of meaning and fulfilling relationships. Change, chosen and unexpected, whether large or small, can alter what we think and feel, how we see ourselves, our relationships and our world.

Belinda will help you actively build a tool kit of strategies and skills to grow resilience and wellbeing. Areas Belinda works with include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic health conditions. For example, living with cancer, chronic pain
  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Seeking life balance
  • Difficulty regulating emotions
  • Adjustment and transitions in life roles over the lifespan. For example, caregiving (as parent/ for parents/ significant others), working, transitioning to retirement
  • Grief counselling following bereavement
  • Grief counselling for living loss
  • Trauma

Belinda has an interest in couples counselling offering services including:

  • Improving communication and resolving conflict
  • Enriching relationships
  • Processing relationship betrayals

Belinda selects from a range of evidence based approaches, tailoring interventions to individual needs, hopes and goals. Approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Couples counselling similarly involves assessment and understanding of the couple and relationship needs, goals and hopes for relationship counselling. Techniques and strategies from the Gottman’s Sound Relationship House Theory and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy are drawn upon. Belinda has completed Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman training.

Belinda provides telehealth and in person counselling.
